\nStarting from the Es Cap crossroads, we will follow the Cam\u00ed de Can Parra direction along a path framed by dry stone walls.
\nThis path, whose characteristic zig-zagging gives the sensation of showing us something new at every bend, also functions as a torrent: it has a slight slope but is always constant, directing rainwater towards the sea.
\nThe Torrent de s’Alga<\/em> is located on the east coast of Cap de Barbaria<\/em>.
\nA small and charming cove where you can learn firsthand how the fish is dried in the sun, and which can be reached through one of the 32 green routes that exist to tour the island, specifically the one from the Cap<\/em> to the Torrent<\/em>.
\nOpen your eyes wide when you reach the cove. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Torrent de S’Alga, characteristic for its well-preserved dry docks where fishermen shelter their small boats from the sea and rain.
\nOur attention will be drawn to the branches of juniper stripped and dry nailed to the stone by the sea.
\nFrom them hang fish with meticulous wooden structures that cross them.
\nThis is a traditional technique used by fishermen to dry the fish in order to take advantage of it and consume it all year round.
\nOnce dried, it is roasted over a fire, crumbled and preserved in glass containers with olive oil, becoming “peix sec”, the star ingredient of the “ensalada payesa”, which can be tasted in many restaurants on the island. <\/strong><\/p>\n

From here you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the coast of Migjorn and the cliff of La Mola. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The dried fish of Formentera, is a very old tradition used for the preservation of fish, which allows it to be consumed throughout the year.
\nFor its elaboration the fish is first salted and then left to dry in the sun hanging from the branches of the junipers. <\/strong><\/p>\n
