We would also highlight three more small urban centers that although they do not reach the level of towns, they are worth visiting:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

– Es Cal\u00f3 de Sant Agust\u00ed : it is a small fishing port with the typical exclusive jetties for the “llauts”, the particular boats of the fishermen of the island surrounded by many little houses, a few restaurants at the foot of the little dock.\nIt is one of the most beautiful and quietest areas of the island, perfect to be on vacation and relax. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

– Es Pujols : it is the most urbanized area with the most hotels and apartments on the island, it has a nice promenade next to the beach where at night markets are set up, besides there are many restaurants, souvenirs, bars and a couple of small discos for those who come looking for a little more fun and party at night.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

– Puerto de La Sabina : the only port where you arrive and leave the island, has people coming and going all day, also has two yacht clubs with the yachts of the most fortunate and several restaurants and bars with terraces to watch a sunset and a dream sunset at the end of the day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The three lighthouses of Es Cap de Barberia, La Mola and La Sabina, each with its own history and so different and charming from each other, are also worth a visit.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The watchtowers or defense towers built in the eighteenth century to protect the population from pirate raids are another attraction of the island that should not be missed.\nThey are circular in shape, all made of stone and with two floors, they communicated with each other with smoke signals. There are five on the island: one in Punta Prima, one in Es Cap de Barberia, one in Punta Gavina, one in Es Pi des Catal\u00e0 and another in Espalmador. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Also the windmills are another of the attractions of the island that should not be left to discover, each village has its own and the three we have are built on a small mound from where we can see perfectly each of the villages and from where there are spectacular views.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Undoubtedly the coves and beaches of the island are the most sought after and preferred by thousands of tourists who visit us every year, which we will discuss in a future article, but what is related in this is what most defines the people of Formentera and what most characterizes Formentera.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
