- In the summer season, Formentera is visited by many tourists. Scooters are the most popular vehicle on the island. Take care when you’re driving and keep the legally-required distance from other vehicles.
- You’re in Formentera and on holiday, so take it slow! In built-up areas, the speed limit is 50 km/h, and can sometimes be less. On open roads, the maximum speed is between 70 and 80 km/h.
- In restricted areas, such as Ses Illetes or Levante Beach, and in the summer season, parking is not free and car parks get full very quickly. We recommend visiting these areas early in the morning.
- Distances in Formentera are short, but don’t forget that there are only two petrol stations. Allow enough time when you’re dropping off the vehicle, as at certain times of the day there are long queues, especially in the afternoon.

Of course you can! You can add an additional driver when you make your reservation, when you come to pick up the vehicle at our office or during the rental period. Remember that with Rent a Car San Fernando the second driver is free of charge.
As long as you have a suitable means of transport to carry them and you have the necessary hygienic measures in place, you will be penalised with an extra cleaning fee + 1 day’s rental fee if the car is soiled without permission.
